LiDAR vs. Manual Measuring: A Field Comparison from a Former Plumber

As a Texas Master Plumber with over six years of experience, I've had more than a few run-
ins with bad measurements on the job.
One that still stings: we were doing a rough-in, hand measuring where our stub-outs were supposed to go. Concrete gets poured, the framers come in to line up their studs and lo and behold, someone measured wrong. We ended up busting out fresh concrete to relocate drains. A total nightmare.
If I had known then what I know now that you can LiDAR scan a rough-in and compare it directly to existing plans to verify everything is in the right location before the concrete goes down. We would have saved hundreds of man-hours and thousands of dollars.
That experience is a big part of why I started HosScans. Whether you're in the middle of a renovation, a new construction project, or space planning, accurate documentation isn't optional. It's the difference between a smooth project and an expensive rework.
At HosScans, we make sure everything is documented and verified. So your team can move forward with confidence.
